I’ve been an athlete for most of my life, ever since I got my first bike at age four. Growing up, I was involved in track and field, played badminton, and spent weekends either on my bike or skiing, depending on the season. In my early 20s, I discovered mountain biking, and it quickly became my obsession. Over the years, I’ve also embraced kayaking, weight training, and endurance sports to complement my active lifestyle.
“A lifetime on the bike and years spent coaching cyclists—these days I put all of it into writing rather than training plans.”
As a certified strength and conditioning coach (ISSA-SSC), I spent years combining that expertise with firsthand experience, helping cyclists and endurance athletes reach their goals—preparing for a big race, building endurance, or simply riding stronger. I’ve participated in numerous endurance events, including multi-day cycling races, century rides, and relay events. Some of my favorites include:
- BC Bike Race
- Royal LePage Petite Fondo
- Royal LePage Snow to Surf
- Ride to Conquer Cancer
- Tour de Victoria
- Tour of the Moon (Colorado)
- YANA Ride
Most days, you’ll still find me on my bike, in the gym, or out on the water kayaking. I also love hiking and occasionally hit the ski slopes.
I’ve since wrapped up one-on-one coaching and I’m no longer taking clients—but everything I learned from it lives on in the writing here. Years of thinking on endurance training, nutrition, strength, and riding well, set down and kept free for anyone who wants it.
